From Rt.1 Thomaston,  take 131 S from the General Knox Mansion House to Rt. 73 (approximately 6-7 miles).   Turn left on Rt.73 for one mile to Clark Island Road.  Watch for signs to OUTWARD BOUND.   Turn right on Clark Island Rd. for 6/10 of a mile to Lilac Cottage on your right.
